Grade 2 Home Reading Program
Dear Parents,
As-salamu ‘Alaykum,
I, Mrs. Fatima, your child’s class teacher this year, would like to take this opportunity to share reading and homework expectations for this year.
Grade 2 Home Reading Program:
Reading is the key to success and it is very important that students read at home every day. Please encourage your child to read at home every day at least 15 minutes and record that on home reading log. Reading books will not be provided from class. However, as soon as school library is open for class visits students will be allowed to borrow books from school library according to library procedure. You are encouraged to use Public Libraries around your area.
Students will read at least one book every night. Children should be reading for at least 15 minutes each night. I ask that you participate in this reading experience with your child. Your role will be to go through the book with your child using the reading/comprehension strategies that I have listed.
